## Symptoms

- HTTP 503 with `error.code=DEPENDENCY_DNS_FAILED`
|
|
- DNS resolution failure for upstream hostname
|
|
|
|
## Diagnosis
|
|
|
|
- Test DNS resolution from app pod: `nslookup <upstream-host>`
|
|
- Check cluster DNS (CoreDNS) health
|
|
|
|
## Action
|
|
|
|
- Verify upstream hostname configuration
|
|
- Check CoreDNS / cluster DNS health
|
|
|
|
## Escalation

- P1 if cluster DNS is degraded
