Symptoms

• HTTP 503 with error.code=DEPENDENCY_DNS_FAILED
• DNS resolution failure for upstream hostname

Diagnosis

• Test DNS resolution from app pod: nslookup <upstream-host>
• Check cluster DNS (CoreDNS) health

Action

• Verify upstream hostname configuration
• Check CoreDNS / cluster DNS health

Escalation

• P1 if cluster DNS is degraded
